Can't Stop Smilin'

Mercy Medical Airlift's famous slogan is "Be Blessed."  I truly am so blessed!  Today, I just received an email from Mercy Medical---a flight itinerary! :)  Can you guess what that means?? :D  MMA is providing my mom and me with a round-trip flight to Cincy!!  Everything's already booked and confirmed!  We leave PDX on Saturday, April 13th and come home April 20th!!  So thankful for my sponsor.  The person paid $1,119.20 for our two tickets!

Do you want to hear something even more awesome?  We found out that we'll be flying on the same plane as my dad and sister!!  Sometimes even in the same row!!! :D

We leave in 2 1/2 weeks!!  Praise God with me for His goodness and constant provision!  We truly can "entrust our souls to a faithful Creator." (I Peter 4:19)

Crochet Funnnn

Here are some fun pictures that my brother took of my crochet projects. :)

my work basket ;)

the project on the right is what I'm currently working on.  that's a dishcloth that I'm making for my mom :)

from left to right: a baby ball, baby cap, baby bootie, and bib (sidenote-I was only able to make one bootie because I ran out of yarn. lol  Let's just consider that a practice round! ;)

In other news, we found out this week that it's very likely I qualify for a flight to Cincy!!  Praise God!  Mercy Medical Airlift already collected a processing fee from us.  And right now, they're looking for a sponsor for me. :)  That's exciting!

Also, guess what?  We tentatively leave for Ohio in 3 1/2 weeks!!! :D  Soo glad.  I'm not doing too well symptoms-wise, so I'm very thankful that this trip is coming up.

One day at a time

Hey, friends!

I've been severely fatigued lately which is why you haven't heard from me in a while.  But I think I can manage typing a little update for you. :o)

I've been sleeping a lot, trying to make it through physical therapy every week, crocheting, and waiting for April to get here..  Only 4 1/2 more weeks! :)

I thank God for the blessing of being able to crochet.  It keeps me busy as I keep waiting.  I have to limit my reading (sob!) otherwise I'll get nystagmus in my eyes, and I don't want to watch movies all day, so I thought I'd start up crocheting again---It's not too hard on my hands and doesn't really aggravate the CRPS in my left hand which is great!  I've currently made two dishcloths, a baby ball, a baby bib, and am now working on baby booties.  So fun!  Pictures to come soon! :o)

Today I sent in an application to Mercy Medical Airlift for possible flight assistance to Cincy.  I should hear from them within the week regarding the next step.

Blessings to you!

The 3 P's---PT, Philippians, and Pain

Happy 1st, friends!  There are only 45 more days till my first appointment in Cincy!  Can you tell I'm counting down the days? ;)

This week, I officially started physical therapy twice a week instead of once, and I can tell you, this is gonna be so much more fun. :)  I love having two different therapists as they each have their own perspective on things.  My first one is currently in Chicago for 6 days to study more about hypermobile joints, so today I saw my second therapist. :)  She's so sweet!  And a great encourager, too.  She has many CRPS patients, and I love that she knows my pain dr. as well.

An elder from my church and I recently finished memorizing the book of Philippians, so now we're on to I Peter. :)  I passed these two verses and wanted to share them with you because they encourage me and are so inspirational:

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while,
if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,
so that the tested genuineness of your faith---
more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire---
may be found to result in praise and glory
and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
~I Peter 1:6-7

Thoughts:
1. We experience trials if they are necessary.

2. Hard times are temporary.  They only last for a little while.  Isn't that comforting?

3. Vs. 7 says that our faith will be tested by fire.  It doesn't say that it will be tested by a spark or even a flame but by FIRE.  It's gonna hurt!  But...

4. ...here's the amazing part. :)  All this pain, or whatever else we may go through, brings praise AND glory AND honor to Jesus!  I've said this before, and I'll say it again---how wonderful it is that all this pain is not in vain! :)

One of my friends shared this quote just yesterday with me and my sis.  I think it's a great ending to this blog post:

If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world."
